Isaiah 1:11-13
Of what use are your many sacrifices to Me? says the L-rd. I am sated with the burnt-offerings of rams and the fat of fattened cattle; and the blood of bulls and sheep and hegoats I do not want. 12. When you come to appear before Me, who requested this of you, to trample My courts? 13. You shall no longer bring vain meal-offerings, it is smoke of abomination to Me; New Moons and Sabbaths, calling convocations, I cannot [bear] iniquity with assembly.

These verses have been misinterpreted by missionaries to mean that the sacrificial system is inadequate and is to be replaced with a new religion. On the contrary, sacrifices are effective when combined with repentance. What these verses show is the relative unimportance of blood sacrifice compared to repentance itself. For more explanation see the article THE MYTH OF INEFFECTIVE SACRIFICES.

Isaiah 1:16-17
Wash, cleanse yourselves, remove the evil of your deeds from before My eyes, cease to do evil. 17. Learn to do good, seek justice, strengthen the robbed, perform justice for the orphan, plead the case of the widow.

Sacrifices are rejected by G-d only because the people did not correct their deeds (repent).

Isaiah 1:21
How has she become a harlot, a faithful city; full of justice, in which righteousness would lodge, but now murderers.

This verse is clear that Jerusalem was previously a righteous city. The contrast to "murderers" makes clear we are speaking of BEHAVIORAL righteous. This is a problem for Pauline theology which claims that all are wicked and it is not possible to be righteous in deeds.

Isaiah 1:26
And I will restore your judges as at first and your counsellors as in the beginning; afterwards you shall be called City of Righteousness, Faithful City.

Missionaries are not big fans of the Sanhedrin. Are they looking forward to its restoration as is Isaiah? And what role would the judges play when the Law is supposedly superceded? Evidenly the Law is eternal.

Isaiah 2:2
And it shall be at the end of the days, that the mountain of the L-rd's house shall be firmly established at the top of the mountains, and it shall be raised above the hills, and all the nations shall stream to it.

This is a messianic prophecy predicting the establishment of the final Temple. Jesus did not do this because he is not the messiah.

Isaiah 2:3
And many peoples shall go, and they shall say, "Come, let us go up to the L-rd's mount, to the house of the G-d of Jacob, and let Him teach us of His ways, and we will go in His paths," for out of Zion shall the Law come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

The Law remains eternal even in the Messianic age. It has not been superceded.

Isaiah 2:4
And he shall judge between the nations and reprove many peoples, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift the sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

This messianic prophecy predicts world peace. Jesus did not bring universal peace.

Isaiah 3:10-11
Praise the righteous man for he is good, for the fruit of their deeds they shall eat. 3:11. Woe to the wicked [who does] evil, for the recompense of his hands shall be done to him.

Missionaries claim that all are wicked, that nobody can please G-d with his deeds. These verses show otherwise; the punishment for wicked actions is contrasted with the Prophet's praise for righteous actions which are beneficial (fruitful).

Isaiah 5:7
For the vineyard of the L-rd of Hosts is the House of Israel, and the people of Judah are the plant of His joy; and He hoped for justice, and, behold, there was injustice; for righteousness, and behold, an outcry.

In this instance the people's behavior has been disappointing to G-d. However, G-d did hope for justice and righteouesness. How can missionaries explain this? They claim man is inherently wicked and cannot possible act righteously. The fact that G-d hoped otherwise refutes this theology.

Of course G-d knows the future. But G-d's "hope" for righteousness expressed the ability of man to practice it.

Isaiah 6:2-3;8
Seraphim stood above for Him, six wings, six wings to each one; with two he would cover his face, and with two he would cover his feet, and with two he would fly. 6:3. And one called to the other and said, "Holy, holy, holy is the L-rd of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory." 6:8. And I heard the voice of the L-rd, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am; send me."

This is an example of the majestic plural, where G-d speaks on behalf of His retinue of angels in the plural "we", although G-d Himself is singular. This sheds light on the statement "Let us Make Man" : see Commentary to Genesis 1:26.

Isaiah 7
Missionaries tell us this chapter speaks of the virgin birth of Jesus. For a refutation of this position see the website article VIRGIN BIRTH A MISCONCEPTION

Isaiah 11:1-2
And a shoot shall spring forth from the stem of Jesse, and a twig shall sprout from his roots. 11:2. And the spirit of the L-rd shall rest upon him, a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and heroism, a spirit of knowledge and fear of the L-rd.

These verses about the Messiah show that the Messiah is not divine. A divine being cannot have "fear of the L-rd."

Isaiah 11:4-8
And he shall judge the poor justly, and he shall chastise with equity the humble of the earth, and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips he shall put the wicked to death. 11:5. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faith the girdle of his loins. 11:6. And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them. 11:7. And a cow and a bear shall graze together, their children shall lie; and a lion, like cattle, shall eat straw. 11:8. And an infant shall play over the hole of an old snake and over the eyeball of an adder, a weaned child shall stretch forth his hand.

The Messianic age is characterized by full peace of earth. Jesus did not accomplish this.

Isaiah 11:9
They shall neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mount, for the land shall be full of knowledge of the L-rd as water covers the sea bed.

The Messianic age is characterized by universal knowledge of G-d. There has not yet happened. Jesus is not the Messiah.

Isaiah 11:10-16
And it shall come to pass on that day, that the root of Jesse, which stands as a banner for peoples, to him shall the nations inquire, and his peace shall be [with] honor. 11:11. And it shall come to pass that on that day, the L-rd shall continue to apply His hand a second time to acquire the rest of His people, that will remain from Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Cush and from Elam and from Sumeria and from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. 11:12. And He shall raise a banner to the nations, and He shall gather the lost of Israel, and the scattered ones of Judah He shall gather from the four corners of the earth. 11:13. And the envy of Ephraim shall cease, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, nor shall Judah vex Ephraim. 11:14. And they shall fly of one accord against the Philistines in the west, together they shall plunder the children of the East; upon Edom and Moab shall they stretch forth their hand, and the children of Ammon shall obey them. 11:15. And the L-rd shall dry up the tongue of the Egyptian Sea, and He shall lift His hand over the river with the strength of His wind, and He shall beat it into seven streams, and He shall lead [the exiles] with shoes. 11:16. And there shall be a highway for the remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, as there was for Israel on the day they went up from the land of Egypt.

The Messianic age is characterized by ingathering of the exiles. Jesus did not accomplish this. For more explanation see the article What Is A Messianic Prophecy?.

Isaiah, Chapter 9
This chapter of Isaiah speaks of a Prince of Peace. Missionaries make many errors in maintaining it speaks of Jesus. Perhaps you would like to know who the real Price of Peace is. For more information see the article WHO IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE?

Isaiah 22:14
"And it was revealed in My ears, from the L-rd of Hosts; "that this iniquity shall not be atoned for you until you die", said the L-rd G-d of Hosts.

This is an example of bloodless atonement. There is no sacrifice to atone for this sin according to the Prophet.

Some missionaries argue that death is indeed a form of blood sacrifice. That is not true.

1. The spilling of blood is not necessary to die. In missionary theology Jesus had to die a violent death rather than e.g. die in his sleep. Isaiah here gives no indication that the atoning death must be bloody.

2. Since personal death is an form of atonement, that refutes the missionary assertion that Jews today lack atonement. Jews today still die. Which is it? If death is blood sacrifice, how can missionaries say Jews lack blood sacrifice? If death is not blood sacrifice, that is proof that blood is not the only form of atonement. Either way the missionaries are refuted.

Isaiah 26:10
Shall the wicked be favored-who did not learn righteousness? In the land of uprightness he deals unjustly, and he does not see the pride of the L-rd.

Missionaries claim that all are wicked in action, that righteousness is entirely based on faith, and human actions play no part in righteousness. In this verse we see this is not the case. The wicked are condemned for their actions and contrasted with the righteous. Clearly the righteous act correctly, according to G-d's will.

Isaiah 27:9
Therefore, with this shall Jacob's iniquity be atoned for, and this is all the fruit of removing his sin; by making all the altar stones like crushed chalkstones; asherim and sun-images shall not rise.

This is a clear example of bloodles atonement. Isaiah is speaking of the conclusion of the second exile and no Temple sacrifices exist. Missionaries are wrong to say all atonement requires blood.

Isaiah 32:1
Behold for righteousness shall a king reign, and over princes who rule with justice.

This is not talking about the Messiah, as the context is the downfall of Assyria. Therefore it is Hezekiah. While missionaries say we are all sinners who cannot behave correctly, this verse shows Hezekiah and others will behave righteously.

Isaiah 32:2-4
32:2 And the man shall be as a hiding- place from the wind and a shelter from the rain, as rivulets of water in an arid land, as the shade of a huge rock in a weary land.

32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be sealed,

32:4 And the heart of the hasty shall understand to know, and the ears of them that hear shall attend, and the tongue of the stammerers shall hasten to speak clearly.

The actions of these righteous people will be fruit.

Isaiah 32:8
But the generous person plans generous deeds, and he, because of generous deeds, shall stand.

Here people are considered good because of their deeds, not merely because of their faith as missionaries preach.

Isaiah 32:16-18
32:16. And justice shall dwell in the desert, and righteousness shall reside in the fruitful field.

32;17. And the deed of righteousness shall be peace, and the act of righteousness [shall be] tranquility and safety until eternity.

32:18. And My people shall dwell in a dwelling of peace, and in secure dwellings and in tranquil resting-places.

The people will act righteously and be rewarded by G-d for doing so.

Isaiah 33:14-16
33:14. Sinners in Zion were afraid; trembling seized the flatterers, 'Who will stand up for us against a consuming fire? Who will stand up for us against the everlasting fires?

15. He who walks righteously, and speaks honestly, who contemns gain of oppression, who shakes his hands from taking hold of bribe, closes his ear from hearing of blood, and closes his eyes from seeing evil.

16. He shall dwell on high; rocky fortresses shall be his defense; his bread shall be given [him], his water sure.

Missionaries say we are all sinners. This passage clearly contrasts sinners with those who are righteous according to their actions.

Isaiah, Chapter 37
This chapter chronicles the great deliverance that the Jewish people experienced from the Assyrian enemy. Hezekiah was king at the time. The account throws light on Isaiah chapter 9:5-6. The Prince of Peace is Hezekiah, but missionaries falsely identify him with Jesus. For more information see the article "Who Is The Prince Of Peace?")

Isaiah 40:1-2
40:1"Console, console My people," says your G-d.

40:2. Speak to the heart of Jerusalem and call to her, for she has become full [from] her host, for her iniquity has been conciliated, for she has taken from the hand of the L-rd double for all her sins.

This passage demolishes the missionary argument that Jews can never receive atonement in the post-Temple period unless they accept Jesus. Isaiah clearly states that the Jewish people at the end of the exile will attain forgiveness for sin because of the suffering they endured. No blood sacrifice is involved here.

Isaiah 40:8
The grass shall dry out, the blossom shall wilt, but the word of our G-d shall last forever.

Since G-d Himself has declared His Law to be eternal, we are sure the missionaries are mistaken in claiming there is now a new salvation program

Isaiah 40:18-19
40:18. And to whom do you liken G-d, and what likeness can you compare to Him?

40:19. The graven image, the craftsman has melted, and the smith plates it with gold, and chains of silver he attaches.

Isaiah teaches that G-d has no likeness to any created thing, and repudiates the idea that G-d is a material being. The missionary theology of the Incarnation is Scripturally abhorrent and is idolatry.

Isaiah 41:8
41:8. But you, Israel My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, who loved Me

G-d's servant is Israel. This answers the question who is the G-d's Suffering Servant in Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 42:8
I am the L-rd, that is My Name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to the graven images.

G-d will never share His glory with another. This refutes the Incarnation of Jesus. G-d does not share His divinity with a human being.

Isaiah 42:10
"You are My witnesses," says the L-rd, "and My servant whom I chose," in order that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He; before Me no god was formed and after Me none shall be.

G-d is alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity.

The Jewish people are called Servant. The Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53 is Israel.

The Jews are G-d's witnesses. Not the Church.

Isaiah 42:11
I, I am the L-rd, and besides Me there is no Savior.

There is no human savior such as Jesus.

Isaiah 44:1-2, 21
44:1. And now, hearken, Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen.

44:2. So said the L-rd your Maker, and He Who formed you from the womb shall aid you. Fear not, My servant Jacob, and Jeshurun whom I have chosen.

44:21. Remember these, O Jacob; and Israel, for you are My servant; I formed you that you be a servant to Me, Israel, do not forget Me.

Israel is G-d's servant. The Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53 has been identified.

Isaiah 44:6
So said the L-rd, the King of Israel and his Redeemer the Lord of Hosts, "I am first and I am last, and besides Me there is no G-d.

G-d is one alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity

Isaiah 45:5-6
45:5. I am the L-rd, and there is no other; besides Me there is no G-d: I will strengthen you although you have not known Me.

45:6. In order that they know from the shining of the sun and from the west that there is no one besides Me; I am the L-rd and there is no other.

G-d is one alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity.

Isaiah 45:7
Who forms light and creates darkness, Who makes peace and creates evil; I am the L-rd, Who makes all these.

Missionaries attribute evil to the Devil. That is not Scriptural. G-d created evil. It must be so; G-d's oneness implies that there is only one Force in the world. G-d intended evil so that Man would have free choice and serve G-d. G-d wants to freely reject evil, but this task is only meaningful if evil is present.

Isaiah 45:14
So said the L-rd, "The toil of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you and shall be yours; they shall follow you; they shall come over in chains, and they shall prostrate themselves before you, they shall pray to you, "Only in you is G-d and there is no other god.

This verse, like many others, shows that the nations will recognize in the End of Days that religious truth is with the Jews. Christian missionaries themselves will turn to the Jews; the world will not turn to the missionaries.

Isaiah 45:18, 21-22
45:18. For so said the L-rd, the Creator of heaven, Who is G-d, Who formed the earth and made it, He established it; He did not create it for a waste, He formed it to be inhabited, "I am the L-rd and there is no other.

45:21. Declare and present, let them even take counsel together; who announced this from before, [who] declared it from then? Is it not I, the Lord, and there are no other gods besides Me, a just and saving God there is not besides Me

45:22. Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is no other.

G-d is one alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity.

Isaiah 45:10
Not in secret did I speak, in a place of a land of darkness; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, Seek Me, in vain; I am the L-rd, Who speaks righteousness, declares things that are right.

G-d does not communicate His will in secret. Yet when we look at the commandments of the Law we do not understand what to do. The details are missing. Indeed G-d did not speak in secret. He gave an Oral Law to Moses which was passed down to the Sages of Israel.

Isaiah 46:5-6
46:5 To whom shall you liken Me and make Me equal and compare Me that we may be alike?

46:6 Those who let gold run from the purse and weigh silver with the balance; they hire a goldsmith and he makes it a god, they kneel, yea they prostrate themselves.

G-d has no likeness to anything in creation. G-d has no resemblance to physicality. The missionary Incarnation concept is idolatry.

Isaiah 46:9
9Remember the first things of old, that I am G-d and there is no other; I am G-d and there is none like Me.

G-d is one alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity.

Isaiah 48:12
Hearken to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, who was called by Me, I am He, I am first, yea I am last.

G-d is one alone and exclusive. There is no Trinity.

Isaiah 48:17-18
48:17 So said the L-rd, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel," I am the L-rd your G-d , Who teaches you for your benefit, Who leads you by the way you should go.

48:18. Had you hearkened to My commandments, your peace would be as a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Verse 17 says that G-d disciplines us for our benefit. What is that benefit? Verse 18 answers: to keep the commandments. This is contrary to missionaries who say G-d gave us a Law we cannot keep to show us we cannot keep it. Missioanaries claim G-d disciplines us to show us we cannot keep the Law; the exact opposite of these verses.

Verse 18 proves that when Israel does obey G-d's commandments they are indeed righteous. This is contrary to missionaries who say keeping G-d's commandments does not lead to righteousness. As to the question of whether it is possible to obey G-d's commandments, there are many verses that clearly say yes. Therefore, it is a fact that one can be righteous in G-d's eyes through the Mosaic Law.

Isaiah 48:20
Leave Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare, tell this, publicize it to the end of the earth; say, "The L-rd has redeemed His servant Jacob."

G-d's servant is Israel. This is true in Isaiah 53 as well.

Isaiah 49:3
And He said to me, "You are My servant, Israel, about whom I will boast."

Israel is G-d's servant. This is clue to identifying the Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 49:6
And He said, "It is too light for you to be My servant, to establish the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the besieged of Israel, but I will make you a light of nations, so that My salvation shall be until the end of the earth."

It is the Jews who will instruct the nations in matters of religion. Jews will not be asking the Church what to do in the End of Days.

Isaiah 49:7
So said the L-rd, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, about him who is despised of men, about him whom the nation abhors, about a slave of rulers, "Kings shall see and rise, princes, and they shall prostrate themselves, for the sake of the Lord Who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He chose you."

Here Isaiah speaks that Israel is the despised Servant of Isaiah 53. Israel is not apppreciated but will be exalted in the End of Days.

Isaiah 49:14-15
49:14 And Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me."

49:15 Shall a woman forget her sucking child, from having mercy on the child of her womb? These too shall forget, but I will not forget you.

Despite the exile and Jewish imperfections G-d maintains His covenant with the Jewish people. Church Replacement Theology is false.

Isaiah 50:1
So said the L-rd, "Where is your mother's bill of divorce that I sent her away? Or, who is it of My creditors to whom I sold you? Behold for your iniquities you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.

Even if the Jews sin, G-d does not "divorce" them. The covenant remains forever.

Isaiah 51:1
Hearken to Me, you pursuers of righteousness, you seekers of the L-rd; look at the rock whence you were hewn and at the hole of the pit whence you were dug.

Missionaries say we are all wicked in G-d's eyes and must be "saved" by faith in Jesus. This verse speaks of those who are righteous. They are not righteous merely by faith; the word "pursue" implies righteous activity.. The fact that G-d praises them for action shows action is significant to Him.

Isaiah 51:4
Hearken to Me, My people, and My nation, bend your ears to Me, when Torah shall emanate from Me, and My judgment [shall be] for the light of the peoples, I will give [them] rest.

The Prophet is clear that Torah [Law] will remain in the Messianic age and will spiritually enlighten. the Law is not superceded as missionaries claim.

Isaiah, Chapter 53
Isaiah 53 is is claimed by missionaries as their most important source that Jesus is the Messiah. Serious examination of the text shows this is not so.

For a refutation of the missionary interpretation see the article What Is A Messianic Prophecy? Part II.

For an explanation of why this passage is referring to Israel, see Rabbi Moshe Shulman's article Isaiah 53

Isaiah 54:7-8
54:7 "For a small moment have I forsaken you, and with great mercy will I gather you.

54:8 With a little wrath did I hide My countenance for a moment from you, and with everlasting kindness will I have compassion on you," said your Redeemer, the L-rd.

This refutes those who maintain that the exile shows G-d has rejected the Jewish people.

Isaiah 55:5-6
55:5. Behold, a nation you do not know you shall call, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, for the sake of the L-rd your G-d and for the Holy One of Israel, for He glorified you.

55:6. Seek the Lord when He is found, call Him when He is near.

In the End of Days the nations will seek religious instruction from the Jews. Clearly they are not turning to them to learn Christianity; there are many gentile Christians who could offer such instruction. Christians themselves, most of whom belong to "the nations" will seek instruction in Judaism's teachings from the Jews.

Isaiah 55:7
The wicked shall give up his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts, and he shall return to the Lord, Who shall have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.

True repentance is changing one's way [course of action]. Missionaries preach that we cannot correct our deeds since we are hopelessly wicked. They understand repentace to mean recognition that one is a sinner, who can only turn to Jesus in faith. This is not Biblical. This verse teaches a course of repentance contrary to missionaries.

Isaiah 56:1-2
56:1. So says the L-rd, "Keep justice and practice righteousness, for My salvation is near to come, and My benevolence to be revealed."

56:2. Fortunate is the man who will do this and the person who will hold fast to it, he who keeps the Sabbath from profaning it and guards his hand from doing any evil.

These verses are entirley contrary to missionaries, who preach that salvation comes from faith alone apart from actions. Here salvation comes to those who act righteously, something missionaries deny can be done.

Isaiah 56:4
For so says the Lord to the eunuchs who will keep My Sabbaths and will choose what I desire and hold fast to My covenant

The Sabbath remains in Messianic times. The Law is not superceded as missionaries claim.

Isaiah 56:7
I will bring them to My holy mount, and I will cause them to rejoice in My house of prayer, their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon My altar, for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

Sacrifices are coming back. This refutes the idea that the Crucifixion is the ultimate sacrifice. In missionary theology the return of sacrifices makes no sense at all.

Isaiah 58:6-8
58:6 Is this not the fast I will choose? To undo the fetters of wickedness, to untie the bands of perverseness, and to let out the oppressed free, and all perverseness you shall eliminate.

58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and moaning poor you shall bring home; when you see a naked one, you shall clothe him, and from your flesh you shall not hide.

58:8 Then your light shall break forth as the dawn, and your healing shall quickly sprout, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the L-rd shall gather you in.

Isaiah is teaching the meaning of true repentance. It is not what missionaries teach. They claim man is too wicked to correct his actions, can only gain atonement by faith if Jesus' blood. Jewish Scripture teaches that genuine repentance means acting righteously.

Isaiah 59:20
And a redeemer shall come to Zion, and to those who repent of transgression in Jacob, says the L-rd.

For explanation of how the New Testament misquotes this verse and distorts its meaning, read the article What Is A Messianic Prophecy?.

Isaiah 59:21
"As for Me, this is My covenant with them," says the L-rd. "My spirit, which is upon you and My words that I have placed in your mouth, shall not move from your mouth or from the mouth of your seed and from the mouth of your seed's seed," said the L-rd, "from now and to eternity."

The Jewish people will always study G-d's Law [Torah]. It remains forever. It is not superceded as missionaries claim.

Isaiah 60:3
And nations shall go by your light and kings by the brilliance of your shine.

The nations will follow the religious instructions of the Jews. Judaism is the true religion, not missionary faith.

Isaiah 61:8
For I am the L-rd, Who loves justice, hates robbery in a burnt offering; and I gave their wage in truth, and an everlasting covenant I will make for them.

The whole concept of "wages" is alien to missionaries. They preach that one can never merit G-d's favor and therefore must be "saved" by grace. This verse refutes this theology.

Isaiah 61:9
And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all who see them shall recognize them that they are seed that the L-rd blessed.

The Jews, and only the Jews, are and will be the Chosen People. The missionary view that "Israel" imcludes the gentile Church is totally without foundation.
